Thomas Interior Systems Wins Award in Best Places to Work in Illinois Program for 2006 Thomas Interior Systems has been named as the 6th Best Place to Work in Illinois for 2006. The award program is a partnership of the Society of Human Resource Managers (SHRM) – Illinois State Council, the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce, Best Companies Group, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and The Business Ledger, This program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Illinois, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements: have at least 25 employees in Illinois, be a for-profit or not-for-profit business, be a publicly or privately held business and have a facility in Illinois. Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine whether their company would qualify. The first part of the evaluation process consisted of a review of each company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group, a workplace consulting group, managed the overall registration and survey process in Illinois with assistance from ModernThink LLC, New York, which used its expertise to analyze the data and determine the final rankings. Thomas Interior Systems was recognized and honored at The Business Ledger's Annual Awards for Business Excellence and Best Places to Work in Illinois awards ceremony on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at the Abbington Distinctive Banquets in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
