Position Summary: The IT Coordinator at Thomas Interior Systems (TIS) will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and trouble-shooting the company’s hardware and software systems.  This role will require learning many of the programs used by TIS admin, designers, project managers and sales people, including Core Business System, AutoCad 2020 Worksheet and Crystal Reports.  We are looking for a self-motivated individual who will think creatively, investigate new solutions, explore additional capabilities of our current software programs, and build out our existing systems to increase utility and efficiency.  Thomas is growing at a rapid pace, and the contributions of an innovative, dedicated IT Coordinator will be crucial for the future success of our team.    

Responsibilities: 

  • Acquire a comprehensive understanding of Core in order to most effectively support our associates
  • Manage and maintain pertinent hardware (phone systems, desktops, servers, printers, copiers, etc.)
  • Support existing software and handle the installation, configuration, and preliminary testing of any new programs
  • Maintain and optimize company network and servers to achieve high performance of various business functions
  • Investigate, plan and execute the purchases of new equipment and systems
  • Trouble shoot and resolve internal IT issues and provide impromptu instruction to team-members
  • Provide both formal and informal training on new programs and best practices
  • Perform all IT-related aspects of the onboarding process for new hires including password/security administration
  • Manage various maintenance and supply contracts related to our IT assets
  • Work with project managers, designers and sales teams to improve data management and organization
  • Join forces with the operations team on projects to enhance performance tracking capabilities
  • Assist in the research, acquisition and implementation of a Warehouse/Inventory Management Syste
  • Collaborate with marketing department to improve Internet marketing, SEO and web-based client interfaces
  • Remain up to date on newest industry solutions, best practices, and IT capabilities at other furniture dealerships

Qualifications: 

  • 3-5 years of experience in an administrative IT support role preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or a related field preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows based operations systems
  • Excellent trouble shooting and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to stay organized, agile, and responsive to internal requests
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other employees and provide personal instruction regarding IT issues
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, Access, Word & Powerpoint
  • Basic programming skills and experience writing Excel Macros preferred
